Megan Patrick is a Research Professor at ITR and the Institute of Child Development. Her published research focuses on the development and consequences of adolescent and young adult risk behaviors, including alcohol use, drug use, and risky sexual behaviors. Her interests include motivation and decision-making, the prevention of health risk behaviors, statistical methods for modeling behavior and behavior change, and mobile and web-based survey methodology. NIH funding supports her current projects focusing, for example, on high-intensity drinking of adolescents and young adults, dynamic associations between substance use and consequences across young adulthood, and predictors and consequences of simultaneous alcohol and marijuana use. She is also a Co-Investigator of the national Monitoring the Future study (based in the University of Michigan Youth and Social Issues Program) which has examined attitudes and behavior of youth and adults in the U.S. since 1975.
